Lost & found dogs

Dogs are handled by the City of Revelstoke. Please contact Animal Control at 250-837-4747.

To report a lost or found dog, please contact Bylaw Enforcement at bylawenforcement@revelstoke.ca.

If your dog does not have a dog licence, you can find information about dog licences on the Animal Control page under Dogs → Dog Licences.

If your dog is lost

Once you have confirmed that Bylaw Enforcement Officers do not have your stray, there are other steps you can take to alert the community:

Lost cats

For all intents and purposes, any cat running around outdoors without a tag or collar falls into the "lost" category.

Indoor cat escapes, or outdoor cat gone too long

If your cat has taken off without first grabbing its ID:

  • Check with neighbours; show pictures and provide your contact info.
  • Check our Facebook page to see if it has been impounded at the shelter. If not, contact us below so we can let you know the second it arrives at our shelter.
  • Make a lost cat post on the Revelstoke Community Facebook page (or ask a friend if you don't use Facebook), and ask your friends (including us) to share it.
  • Place an ad in The Stoke List. Ads get buried fast, so repost every 2 days.
  • Make a lost cat poster and put it up around town.
  • Log in to your BC Pet Registry account (12 months included with adopted pets) and change your cat's microchip status to LOST, so alarms go off as soon as it is scanned.
  • Buy a collar and name tag at the Revelstoke pet store to put on your cat the minute you have your little pal back in your arms.
